The Australian Technical College – Hunter commenced operations in February 2007. The College operates as a non-government school for Year 11 and 12 students with campuses located in Maitland, Newcastle and Singleton.
Students complete their Senior Secondary Certificate of Education and undertake an Australian School-based Apprenticeship in a trade. The College’s curriculum allows for block delivery of both the academic and trade training.
The College offers trade training in electrotechnology, building and construction, metal and engineering, and automotive at both the Newcastle and Maitland campuses, with Newcastle also offering commercial cookery from 2009. Electrotechnology and automotive training is available at Singleton.
Australian Technical College – Hunter Ltd, operates the College and includes industry representation and representatives of education and training providers. The Chair, Mr Jim Gauld, is President of the Singleton Business Chamber and owner of Jim Gauld’s Building Company.

The Australian Technical College - Port Macquarie commenced operations in January 2006 at two campuses, Port Macquarie Airport Business Park in Boundary Road and at the former Hot Tuna factory in Taree, Manning Valley.
Students complete their Senior Secondary Certificate of Education while undertaking an Australian School-based Apprenticeship. They spend one day per week as well as block periods in the workplace over the two years.
At both Port Macquarie and Manning Valley campuses, training is offered in metal and engineering, commercial cookery, construction, furniture making, electrotechnology and automotive.
There is strong industry support in both Port Macquarie and Taree for the Australian Technical College. Mr John McGuigan, Managing Director of John Oxley Motors in Port Macquarie is the inaugural chair of the College’s Board and Mr Stephen Carmody, General Manager, United Group Rail (Goninans) represents the Manning Valley campus sub-committee on the College Board.

The College enables students to undertake their Year 12 Higher School Certificate in conjunction with trade training in either metal & engineering, building & construction, or commercial cookery trades through an Australian School-based Apprenticeship at the Certificate III level.

The Australian Technical College - Illawarra is currently operating from interim premises in Bridge Street, Coniston. Permanent facilities for the College are expected to be completed in late 2008 and will be established in Auburn St, Wollongong.
The College commenced operations in January 2007 and offers students the opportunity to complete their Year 12 Higher School Certificate and commence an Australian School-based Apprenticeship at the Certificate III level in engineering, building and construction, commercial cookery or electrotechnology. The College programme provides for students to undertake on-the-job training with their employer on a 2 days per week basis.
The College is a non-government school and provides opportunities for students to participate in the College in areas outside of Wollongong such as the Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands.

The Australian Technical College - Western Sydney will be operating in 2008 from interim premises in Marayong. Permanent facilities for the College will be determined during 2008.
Students at the College start an Australian School-based Apprenticeship at the Certificate III level while they complete their Higher School Certificate. The trades on offer include commercial cookery, building and construction, automotive and electrotechnology. The College offers a specialised integrated academic and trade training programme that enables students to undertake block periods of on-the-job training with their employer.
The College has extensive industry and community support with representatives from a number of industry associations on the College Board.

The Australian Technical College – Queanbeyan and Region commenced operations in February 2008. The College operates as a non-government school for Year 11 and 12 students from a campus located in Queanbeyan.
Students complete their Higher School Certificate (HSC) while undertaking an Australian School-based Apprenticeship in one of the four trades offered by the College. The College’s curriculum will allow for block delivery of trade training.
The College offers trade training in building and construction, automotive, commercial cookery and electrotechnology.
The Board of the College includes local industry representatives, with Mr Tim Overall as Chair.

The Australian Technical College – Central Western NSW commenced operation in February 2008. The College is a non-government school for Year 11 and 12 students, located in Dubbo, NSW. The College plans to open Learning Centres in Parkes and Cobar in 2008, followed by Orange and Mudgee in 2009.
Students at the College will be able to complete their Year 12 Higher School Certificate while undertaking an Australian School-based Apprenticeship in one of the trades offered by the College. The College delivers trade training in metal and engineering, automotive, building and construction, and electrotechnology and commercial cookery from 2009.
The College is governed by an industry-led Board of Directors, made up of representatives from local industry, the education and training sector and the broader community. The Governing body is chaired by Mr Roger Fletcher.
